Bolt offers zero-latency video transmission

Making the bold claim that ‘zero-delay wireless transmission of video is finally here’, Teradeck is putting its money where its mouth is with the release of the Bolt 1000 and 3000 transmitters. According to the manufacturer, the devices are capable transmitting ‘visually lossless’ 4:2:2 video over the unlicensed 5GHz band with less than 1ms of delay at up to 305m for Bolt 1000 and 914m for the Bolt 3000.

The latest transmitters also boast some impressive specifications over previous models, including 20MHz channels offering the ability to deploy twice as many devices in one location, two new DFS channels for licence interference-free operation in the USA and Europe, ‘instantaneous’ reconnection when moving back into range of the system, a built-in HDMI to SDI converter and removable coloured top plates to aid identification.
