Bosch connects fire alarm and voice evacuation via IP

An IP communication interface has been added to the Modular Fire Panel 5000 Series from Bosch Security Systems, delivering a simple way of connecting it to the manufacturer’s public address and voice evacuation system, Praesideo. The addition is intended to offer ‘a flexible and future-proof connection between both systems’.

Connecting the alarm panel and evacuation system via Ethernet removes the need for additional hardware modules and complex cabling, while also delivering extensive diagnostic functions to ensure continuous and fast analysis of the connection state between the two. Future system extensions are also made easier thanks to the lack of recabling.

According to Bosch, the EN54 interface is now ideal for large-scale installations requiring numerous outlets, or for complex systems such as airports and railway stations. It can also be connected to an existing third-party building management system via OPC or a software development kit.
