Bose expands PowerMatch line

Bose Professional has introduced three new PowerMatch models in order to offer contractors and systems integrators a complete range of market-driven amplifiers. Sound contractors and SIs can now choose from four models to cover the majority of their amp requirements for fixed installations, ranging from demanding venues such as performing arts centres and sports arenas, to high-end commercial installations including retail and hospitality locations.

The full PowerMatch amplifier line now includes the PM8500, (eight channels, 4,000W total rated power) the PM8250 (eight channels, 2,000W total rated power), the PM4500 (four channels, 2,000W total rated power), and the PM4250 (four channels, 1,000W total rated power). However, network versions (PM8500N, PM8250N, PM4500N, PM4250N) are also available for each model, which enable control and monitoring over standard Ethernet networks.

The new additions take on a Class-D amplifier and power supply design that together are capable of maintaining performance even with unexpected variations in AC line voltage, rack temperature and output load conditions. Configurable through the use of QuadBridge technology, each amplifier is capable of combining two or four output channels, creating flexible options to drive different power levels and loudspeaker impedances.

According to the manufacturer, all models deliver flat frequency response, wide dynamic range and low distortion regardless of output level. Full audio frequency response deviation is +/- 0.5dB (at 1W), total harmonic distortion is <0.4 per cent (at 1W, 20Hz -20kHz), signal-to-noise ratio is >99dB for the PM4250 and PM8250 and >102dB for the PM4500 and PM8500 (below rated power, A-weighted).

In conjunction with proprietary ControlSpace Designer software, PowerMatch amplifiers offer onboard loudspeaker DSP, support for both low and high impedance loads (without external transformers), front-panel user interface, and fault detection, plus a digital expansion slot for use with optional audio networking and Bose ESPLink cards.
