Brähler have announced new software features for its digital CDSVAN conference system.
The updated CDSVAN conference system contains functions for discussion, voting, interpretation, speaking time management, messaging the delegates, self-test features, recording tools, messenger calls and various geographic display options.
The updated recording module (developed for language interpretation, recording and archiving), features the option to set marks on each recorded channel, which can be used for faster recalling of specific parts of a speech or interpretation. The recording format may be MP3 or WAV. The locations where the data can be stored can be assigned either on the local hard disk or on an additional hard drive within a local area network.
The unit also features a ‘speaking timer’function, where a warning time can be selected to warn users when their speaking time is coming to an end. Two time credits can be selected; a global or an individual speaking time, giving speakers a choice of an audio or visual warning.
A feature of the manual mode is the ‘Announce mode’, which can be activated at the beginning of a conference. The user wishing to speak can select a microphone ‘request speech’ button. This is transmitted automatically to a request list where a ‘direct floor’ option can be chosen to open selected microphones. Within the manual operation mode, the conference chairman can open or close the request list to have better control and overview of the meeting.
The GUI for the geographic display and the belonging editor have been extended to now include; flexibility in design of virtual microphone switchboards, positioning of the keys, display of speaker images on screen or at an auditorium, display of additional information about the current speaker on screen, and voting results in a geographic screen design.
