Cameo puts a spotlight on effects

Adam Hall lighting brand, Cameo, is aiming to help houses of worship create atmospheric designs with its six new effects spots. The roster of new lights includes a pair of multi-purpose fixtures, the Serum and Voodoo, and four effect-specific elements – Ara, Eye-Eye, QuadRoll 40 and Wayfarer.
Starting with the multi-purpose units, Serum combines derby, moonflower and strobe effects in a three-in-one spotlight. The manufacturer states that these effects can be used individually or in any desired combination, and each effect can be individually controlled in all operating modes. For derby effects, there are two 9W RGB LEDs, each with 16 red, green, blue and white 5mm LEDs for creating the moonflower effect. The stroboscope, which is reportedly adjustable from 0Hz to 20Hz, uses 36 white 5mm LEDs.
Moving on to the Voodoo, the derby effect works with 20 3W RGBA LEDs with single pixel control. The strobe flashes with 12 white 1W LEDs and the manufacturer states that the speed can be adjusted from 0Hz to 20Hz.
Away from the multi-purpose units, Cameo’s Ara features a three-armed design and is a dedicated derby matrix effect light. The fixture offers 3W Quad LEDs for RGBA colours. All 24 LEDs can be individually controlled via DMX.
Offering a similar functionality but in a different form factor, Eye-Eye is also a derby matrix effect spot. It again offers 24 Quad LEDs which can be individually controlled via DMX and create RGBA lighting effects.
Moving light effects are catered to with QuadRoll 40 which uses four mirrored barrel scanners and 10W Quad LEDs. The scanners are powered by stepper motors and whirl RGBW beams with a 4.5-degrees angle through the room.
Finally, the Cameo Wayfarer is a four-eye derby matrix effect with 16 RGBA LEDs of 3W each in a flat housing. Once again, these LEDs can be individually controlled via DMX.
