Carbonite eXtreme leads Ross Video’s new launches

Ross Video’s Carbonite eXtreme leads a wealth of new launches from the manufacturer, and is the result of the brand’s research into modern production switcher applications. Claiming to break away from traditional production switcher architecture by combining production switching with signal routing and distribution in the same chassis, Carbonite eXtreme has been optimised to simplify installations and operation – and at an affordable cost.

Many production systems today are required to deliver outputs to multiple screens, on-set displays and signal distribution systems. This is particularly true for live production of worship and stage events, as well as larger facilities and multi-site complexes.

To address this, the eXtreme chassis can be configured with an I/O of up to 144x144 in increments of eight, and internally houses the Carbonite production switcher, making it simple to manage complex productions across multiple output destinations.

It works with any Carbonite control panel and NK router panel, and when combined with Ross Video’s XPression graphics systems, BlackStorm playout servers and DashBoard control systems, it offers a ‘complete state of the art’ production system with full signal management.

Elsewhere, Ross Video’s robotics division has unveiled the Furio Robo VR600PT robotic head, which has been specifically designed for broadcasters using Ross’ existing track-based system for any combination Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) or Real Set applications without being hampered by low payloads.

The 30Kg payload of the VR600 makes it a versatile option for a range of production environments, as the robotic camera head can be paired and installed on ceiling mounts, static tripods, legacy pedestals, Furio dolly and telescopic lift systems.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also announced the availability of its 1080p (3G) processing technology for its flagship Vision Octane series of production switchers.

The Vision Octane 3G has the same physical chassis options as the standard Octane, but is equipped with new video processing boards that not only accommodate 1080p/50 or 60, but also adds dual 2D DVE resisers– and combiners to every MLE key as well as two more DVE channels for transitions.

Not stopping there, Ross Video also announced Carbonite 10, a new 1 MLE switcher designed for the budget conscious. Boasting 10 source select buttons, it is available with 16 or 24 multi-definition SDI inputs and nine internally generated sources. Carbonite 10 can be configured with the new Carbonite+ and MultiMedia processing engines and comes with LiveAssist and MediaManager graphical user interfaces.
