CharterOak debuts ‘highly anticipated’ K500 EQ

US recording specialist CharterOak has delivered on high anticipation amongst its user-base with the arrival of the K500 ultra-parametric 3-band equaliser. The launch follows a number of early glimpses on the manufacturer’s website and Facebook page.

Reportedly designed for ‘extreme flexibility’, the K500 is described by CharterOak as delivering ‘high headroom, low distortion and three ultra-wide bands’. Designed specifically to appeal to a wide audience of audio professionals, the unit will fit into any 500 series powered rack.

Other features include a constantly variable low-band centre frequency sweep from 20Hz to 500Hz, a constantly variable mid-band centre frequency sweep from 500Hz to 10kHz, a constantly variable high band centre frequency sweep from 800Hz to 20kHz and a constantly variable bandwidth sweep from 1/12 octave to two Octaves in all three bands. Bell and shelf selection is also available in the high and low bands, while users can take advantage of 12dB of cut and boost in 2dB steps via an 11 position rotary switch with lever control and a 24dB cut selection on each band for corrective wide bandwidth cut or corrective notch filter.
