Christie Brio seeks to improve collaboration

Christie has adapted its Phoenix platform to cater to multi-location and BYOD collaborations. Named Brio, the resulting system reportedly allows users to virtually share and collaborate by transmitting presentations over IP networks, enabling multi-user presentations in a single location, or multi-site collaboration.

Rather than streaming a number of sources over a network, the box encodes and shares sources between nodes, either in the same room or remotely. Up to five devices can be connected as inputs, and the box can output onto two screens  (projectors or flat-panels). Because Brio supports both wired and wireless connections, any Wi-Fi enabled device is capable of streaming directly to the display.

For iOS devices there is an app in the App Store, however no additional software is required for windows devices as it makes use of the Network Projector utility.
Connections on the rear of the box include two DVI inputs, audio, Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

Christie has also recently debuted a new 65-inch HD flat-panel display. The edge-lit LED screens come in two variants – the 2.7-inch, touch-enabled FHD651-T, and the 2.1-inch, non-touch FHD651-P.

The FHD651-T can reportedly handle up to four simultaneous touches, whilst both panels have built-in speakers, offer a ‘wide range of inputs’, and support RS232 commands. When used in sync with Brio, the touch-enabled display can also function as an interactive whiteboard, displayed across the other output devices.
