Ciare rolls a six

Following the news of its new management structure, Italian loudspeaker developer Ciare has developed three new designs. Although the 6M38 and 6NCX50 transducers share the same 6-inch diameter, they differ in most other aspects.
The former’s ferrite design has been developed for mid-range applications and is reportedly capable of handling 100W AES power and producing 97dB (1W at 1m) sensitivity. Operating within a frequency range of 90Hz to 8kHz, the high output model incorporates a 38mm interleaved sandwich voice (ISV) coil.
With a rating of 93dB LF to 95dB HF 1W at 1m sensitivity, the 6NCX50 is a coaxial model that can handle 140W AES power. Integrating 2-inch LF copper and 1-inch aluminium HF voice coils, an HF waveguide and neodymium magnet motor, it operates in the same 90Hz to 8kHz spectrum.
Away from the 6-inch diameter, but also comprising a neodymium magnet motor together with a Mylar concentric diaphragm, the NDA1 is an HF annular driver incorporating a 1.7-inch aluminium voice coil. Capable of producing 110dB (1W at 1m) sensitivity, the 50W AES power rated driver incorporates a 1-inch exit throat with a proprietary phase plug.
