Clair develops Cohesion for flagship system

A new flagship system, named the Cohesion Series, is now leading the product offering of Clair Global, having been designed to deliver a reduction in size and weight. The range comprises two line arrays, two subs and a stage monitor.
Promising a ‘270-degree coverage system that fits into a 9m truck’, the Cohesion Series sees Clair responding to increased market demand for more compact, packable systems that deliver the same performance as larger alternatives. It’s largest full range box is the Cohesion CO-12, which reportedly delivers a frequency response of 35Hz to 20KHz over an 80-degree horizontal beam (120-degree coverage is optionally available).
Next is the Cohesion 8 (CO-8), which houses two dual voice coil, high excursion 8-inch drivers plus a single 4-inch diaphragm, 1.5-inch exit compression driver for HF. The enclosure offers a choice of three horizontal coverage patterns: 120-degrees (standard), 80-degrees or 160-degrees. Its frequency response is rated at 55Hz to 18KHz (+/-3dB). Up to 24 CO-8 cabinets can be flown in a single column.
Two subwoofers are available for low-end extension in the shape of the double 18-inch CP-218 and single 18-inch CP-118. Loaded with an integrated 9,000W amplifier, the CP-218 is described by Clair as ‘the highest power subwoofer currently available’. Covering 29Hz to 80Hz (+/-3dB), the 130.5kg sub can be either flown or stacked. Boasting the same frequency response with a rated power output of 8,500W, the CP-118 weighs 59.1kg and can also be flown.
Finally, the CM-22 stage monitor hosts two 12-inch transducers plus a 1.5-inch exit, 4-inch HF compression driver mated to a proprietary horn. Its coverage pattern is 50-degrees (h) x 70-degrees (v) and its frequency response is 40Hz to 18KHz ((+/-3dB). All of the Cohesion cabinets are constructed from marine grade Finland birch plywood.
