Cloud refreshes MPA range

The MPA range of mixer amplifiers has been ‘refreshed’, with manufacturer Cloud Electronics now shipping the MPA-120 and MPA-240. The MPA range has already proven itself as a standard within retail, hospitality, leisure and commercial applications.

The MPA-120 and MPA-240 provide output of 120W and 240W respectively at low impedance – 100V, 70V and 25V. In addition to the existing features of the previous range, the new models include six line inputs, four microphone inputs with vocal priority over music signals, remote music mute triggered via a NO or NC contact, and compatibility with Bose, Amina and Active Audio EQ cards.

Also onboard is a balanced aux output, a utility output and a music-on hold output, both with mic/line level controls. The Mic 1 input can also now be configured as a transformer isolated telephone input for tel-paging applications. Finally, the new models are backwards compatible with all Cloud RL-1 and RSL-6 remote wall panels.

In other news from Cloud, the manufacturer is also shipping the Mk4 versions of its Z4 and Z8 zone mixers. The latest iteration of the zone mixers has reportedly been developed following feedback from systems integrators. As such, the front panel remains ‘almost untouched’ while the rear has been re-engineered.

The units feature a new set of connections on the back panel. XLR-microphone inputs have been replaced by balanced phoenix-style connections for microphones 1 and 2 as well as the analogue paging microphone. A new digital paging interface with gain control has been added and allows direct connection via RJ-45 of all Cloud’s paging microphones and, if required, a link to multiple zone mixers. Music source input connections have been upgraded to two RCA phono connections and four balanced/unbalanced phoenix style connections. A new SMPS has been incorporated to allow for more Cloud LM-2 active input plates to be used. Finally, a music-mute contact (NO/NC) connection is included and optional connection of analogue remote volume/source controls per zone has also been added.
