Conference room solution from Sommer Cable

Addressing the need for a ‘perfect media integration solution’ for conference rooms, Sommer Cable has introduced the energy saving Cardinal DVM 194 series. Not limited to conference rooms, the range can be applied to training rooms, schools, auditoriums and a range of public applications.

The Cardinal DVM 194 series is a complete device line, and has been developed for the requirements in many sectors. It can be used both as an entirely closed system and as an open solution with free interfaces.

The range is comprised of a Media controller, a power amplifier, an automatic mixing console and a HDMI picture source selector. All devices can be fully assimilated into an Ethernet environment and are based on the same controller platform.

The use of variable instruction sets ensures full compatibility with most common devices on the market, including large media controllers, building technology Bus systems, displays and projectors.

At the heart of the series is the media controller, which establishes the connectivity for the media and input devices. Via a web user interface, instruction macros can be freely defined and entire instruction sequences created. A bi-directional communication with connected devices is also possible.

Moving on to the mini high-performance power amplifier, this delivers 80W into 4-ohm loads. This fully remote-controlled model takes on Class-D power amplifier technology, reportedly producing almost no waste heat. The operating status is indicated to the LAN, and all settings can be made directly on the device and called up on a high-resolution display boasting intuitive menu navigation.

Not forgetting the automatic mix machine, this is a device that has been specifically tailored towards an installers needs. Not only are most operating parameters fully controllable, but a user can also choose an automatic level control on its four microphone channels to automatically keep the level at the desired preset value. It includes two mix buses and one docking bus, facilitating a modular room concept.

Completing the DVM 194 series is the HDMI picture source selector, which is capable of routing up to four HDMI picture sources to one output. Using the tool, a full integration into the LAN environment and the DVM 194 network can be realised.
