Confidea Wireless updated to G3

Televic Conference has introduced Confidea G3, the third generation of its Confidea wireless conference system. According to the manufacturer, the G3 has a fully revised and upgraded wireless engine, even more frequency bands, and mobile friendly web control.
Announced as the ‘most radical upgrade the product has gone through since its introduction in 2008’, changes have reportedly been made to the basic discussion-only version, with the number of buttons drastically reduced to minimise clutter and to create a more intuitive user interface. The more advanced G3 version – with voting functionality – now reportedly comes with a built-in RFID card reader for identification and authentication of the delegate.
Like the previous version, G3 supports WCAP+, a mini central unit slated to provide all required functionality for standalone applications. It has a built-in web server offering a mobile-friendly user interface to control the Confidea system remotely. The web interface offers basic microphone on-off switching through a screen touch or click of the mouse. The manufacturer says that ‘for entry level systems this presents a further cost reduction as it lessens the need for extra software’.
Televic commented that the WCAP+ G3 will eventually connect to its new packet-based low-latency network, and that connecting to this network makes Confidea G3 future-proof for working in unison with a uniCOS install as well as with any future Televic product.
