Cordial meets future 10Gbit standard with CCAT 7
Published: PRODUCTS
Cable manufacturer Cordial has recently unveiled its data cable CCAT 7, which the manufacturer states complies with not only the current Cat-7a requirements, but also meets the future 10Gbit standard.
The CCAT 7 was built in response to Cordial acknowledging that digital audio networks (for instance, Audinate’s Dante), transport up to 500 audio channels in high resolution via gigabit Ethernet. Accordingly, Cordial was aware that this transmission required high standards with regards to the stage and reeled cables involved.
The CCAT 7 cable’s high transmission quality and its interference shielding characteristics are achieved by the use of separate foil screening of all four core pairs and an additional overall shield. This is complemented by a PUR jacket and a Neutrik etherCON connector.
The CCAT 7 cable is available in standard lengths of 5, 10, 15 and 20m, reeled in lengths of 25-100m.
