CS 0800 adds eight AES/EBU ports to Oratis Compact

Representing a further expansion of the Oratis Compact intercom platform, Delec has unveiled the CS 0800, a 1U intercom unit delivering eight AES/EBU ports that can be used either as digital interfaces to the Oratis subscriber units or as digital four-wire connections. When partnered with an optional Dante upgrade, the unit can also be used as an AES/EBU to Dante format converter.

Oratis Compact was first announced in September 2013 at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam, winning the Best of IBC award. Living up to its name, the system fits into a 19-inch, 1U chassis, though the CS 0800 takes the concept further, fitting into a half-rack space. It joins its larger siblings, the CS 1624, which has 16 AES/EBU ports and 24 analogue four-wire connections, and the CS 1212 which offers 12 AES/EBU ports and 12 analogue four-wire connections.
