Custom design options from BTX’s latest software

BTX has released the latest version of its free Pro Plate and Panel Designer software, featuring new custom options in addition to a choice of standard anodised aluminium wall plates and panels.



The update allows customers to select from a variety of options including a choice of laminated aluminium colour wall plates which are available in white, black, red, green, blue and yellow, and in gang configurations ranging from one to six.

The new offering also features ‘thicker and more durable’ formed anodised aluminium plates. Only the edges of the plate bevels are flush with a wall, which the manufacturer says makes them ideally suited for uneven surfaces.


Anti-bowing flanged ‘heavy-duty’ panels are also included, and BTX reports that even when punched with the maximum number of cut-outs, the new black, 1/8-inch thick, one-piece bent flanged versions have the extra strength needed to eliminate bowing when attaching or removing cables.

The inclusion of a simple configuration application is designed so that anyone (with any level of experience) can start using it within a matter of minutes. Once a user has downloaded the software, dragged a wall plate or rack panel from BTX's symbol library, they are free to start designing and configuring.

Connectors from manufacturers such as Neutrik and Switchcraft are also available to select from an easy-to-navigate menu. Following configuration, users may add optional engraving if desired, and there is a real-time ‘approve the price’ function included on-screen for further clarification.
