Custom-fit metering solution for postproduction and broadcast

iZotope Inc has released Insight, a new metering suite for postproduction and broadcast applications. Insight offers a fully customisable suite of audio analysis and metering tools that have been optimised for visualising changes made during the mixing process and for troubleshooting problematic mixes.

Insight allows audio engineers to visually monitor all relevant information from a mix in a convenient floating window, and helps ensure adherence to current broadcast standards using advanced metering technology. This includes meters for immediate loudness calculation and True Peak detection, loudness calculation over time, and ‘faster than real-time’ offline loudness calculation.

Advanced visualisation and spatialisation displays provide further aid in detecting problems that the ears cannot perceive, such as the inclusion of ‘surround scope’ and a ‘3D spectrogram’. Also included is a range of user presets designed for an array of engineering applications and to encourage quick and easy access to common metering and loudness configurations. Alternatively, users can define new presets with their own preferred customisations.
