Customisable acoustic panels from Primacoustic

Available in two sizes (60cm x 60cm and 60cm x 120cm), Primacoustic’s Paintables line of acoustic panels can be colour matched to an existing décor or painted in a contrasting colour.

The manufacturer produced the customisable panels following an increased interest in acoustical treatment for commercial spaces, particularly for houses of worship, boardrooms, auditoriums, conference rooms and theatres. 

The Paintables range features a contoured frequency response that is reportedly effective with both voice and music. By facing the panels with a pebbled latex finish, the manufacturer has increased some of the reflectivity in the upper end while enhancing low frequency absorption.

The panels are made from 5.1cm thick high density 6lb glass wool for even absorption across the audio listening range. The front face and edges are encapsulated in a fibreglass mesh and the panel is then finished in a white paintable latex. The panels are tested to meet stringent class-1/A requirements for safe use in commercial buildings.
