Customisation key for Altinex
Published: PRODUCTS
Customisation is at the heart of a pair of releases from Altinex. This comes in the form of the CM Series bezel frames and the VP500-103 high-resolution media player.
The VP500-103 is designed with a customised experience for any A/V setup, featuring USB compatibility so that presentation preparation is a case of copying material to a flash drive and connecting it to the system. The media player also accommodates SD, SDHC, and MMC memory cards, while possessing its own 500MB flash drive.
The manufacturer states that the VP500-103 supports MPEG1 and MPEG2 for 480p or 720p and 1080i or 1080p video content respectively. Additionally, the system can display still images, such as JPG, BMP, PNG, and GIF, and play audio files, including MPR, WMA, and WAV.
A default track continuously loops when the VP500-103 is switched on, or when all inputs are de-selected. This can be a still image, such as a company logo, or a video file to ensure that audiences will not be subjected to a ‘No Signal’ message.
The VP500-103 reportedly features the ability to set the A/V output type to NTSC or PAL for use with the A/V output cable feeding a 3.5mm output signal to three RCA connectors for video and stereo audio. This is controlled by the remote, which provides the ability to configure the default track, adjust screen resolution and select additional functions.
Altinex’ new bezel frames, dubbed the CM Series, have been designed for use with the TNP Jr and CNK Jr Series of interconnect boxes. Three products in two, three and four space configurations form the series: the CM12462, CM12463 and CM12464, respectively.
The CM Series is stackable, allowing integrators to mount multiple interconnect boxes together in a variety of formations, tailored to individual requirements. Altinex says that there will be multiple power and connectivity options, for example, USB charging, HDMI or VGA ports, or USB and network.
When discussing the customisation abilities of the CM Series bezel frames, Jack Gershfeld, president of Altinex said, ‘integrators can not only determine what quantity and which interconnect units to install on a project, they can easily decide which direction the units should face’.
