Dante interface leads Extron launches

Prolific US manufacturer Extron has once again proven that its R&D department never rests with the arrival of a fresh slew of products. Included is the AXI 22 AT D mic/line Dante interface, plus panels and accessories for A/V system control, HDMI switchers and an HDMI audio de-embedder for 4K Sources.

The AXI 22 AT D is a single-gang Decora-style audio interface for integrating two mic/line sources onto a Dante network. Features include switchable 48V phantom power, gain controls for each input and power over Ethernet (PoE) using Extron XTP PI 100 and XTP PI 400 power injectors, a network switch equipped with PoE, or a midspan PoE injector.

Also new is the eBus range of customisable button panels and accessories for A/V system control. Each of the interfaces is described as utilising ‘a unique digital bus architecture’ to facilitate system expansion; button panels are connected to each other and an IPCP Pro control processor with a single cable that carries both power and communication. Within the range are the EBP 100 and EBP 200 button panels, respectively two and three gang pushbutton interfaces offering a variety of functions and features such as dual-coloured, backlit buttons and smooth knobs.

Elsewhere, the DXP 88 HD 4K, DXP 84 HD 4K, and DXP 44 HD 4K constitute three sizes of 4K HDMI fixed I/O matrix switchers. All three are HDCP compliant and support data rates to 10.2Gbps, deep colour up to 12‑bit, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats. Automatic cable equalisation has been applied on all inputs to maintain signal integrity over long distances, while output reclocking restores video signal timing at each HDMI output. The 8x8, 8x4, and 4x4 switchers also offer built‑in audio de‑embedding.

For more specific applications, the HAE 100 4K is an HDMI audio de-embedder that works with signals up to 4K, providing outputs for analogue stereo or dual mono signals, as well as digital multi-channel or two-channel S/PDIF audio. It is HDCP compliant and supports data rates up to 10.2Gbps, while features include an HDMI video output with EDID minder, input cable equalisation and an LED status display.

Finally, three architectural mounting solutions have joined the Extron catalogue. The SMB 110 Series is available in sizes from one-gang to five-gang and hold products at an angle for easy visibility and access; the EWB 212 external wall box is intended for EU products and has been created ‘with sufficient depth to house faceplate wiring as well as take in cable runs from a surface-mounted raceway or rear wall space’; and the WBA 100 wall and box adapter is a plate for surface- or box-mounting A/V components.
