DAS passive install range arrives fully formed

No fewer than eight loudspeaker enclosures have been unveiled as the founding members of the Artec 300 range from DAS Audio, a series of passive models for the install sector. Included are 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch and 15-inch two-ways, plus a double 6-inch two-way, a double 10-inch line array and a passive double 12-inch subwoofer.
According to the Spanish manufacturer, the Artec 300 systems are manufactured from birch plywood and finished with scuff-resistant ISO-flex coating. Available in black or white, the 10-inch, 12-inch and 15-inch two-ways have horn dispersions of 90-degrees x 60-degrees or 60-degrees x 40-degrees. Crucially, all of the Artec point source cabinets boast rotatable horns facilitating the placement of the speakers in either vertical or horizontal configurations. Connections are via terminal strips with input and output terminals.
Also available is an installation line array known as the Artec 320, a twin 10-inch passive line array system incorporating a rigging system described as ‘both simple to use and visually discreet’. It reportedly facilitates the flying of the Artec 320 in either vertical arrays or below the Artec 322S double 12-inch companion subwoofer.
Other available accessories include C-clamps for truss mounting, U-brackets for surface mounting and specialised rigging kits.
