Denon DJ mirrors the feel of vinyl with the SC3900

The SC3900 is a new digital turntable and media controller from Denon DJ. Featuring a 9-inch active platter, the SC3900 utilises a redesigned high-torque direct drive motor intended to mirror the feel of vinyl,
and offers the choice of CD, USB, software, or a networked media server as a track source.
A key feature is the inclusion of new ‘Engine’ music management software that allows a user to play back files on a PC or Mac. Meanwhile, the product’s USB functionality allows a user to prepare a set in a studio or on a computer at home, and then export it to a USB stick or hard disk drive so it is ready for a performance where it can share the USB drive’s files with up to three other compatible players over a network.
Once a user’s networked players are sharing the music from one USB device, the manufacturer has designed the system so that it is easy to manage, cue, and play to any player via an iPad via a new Engine iPad app. This software seamlessly controls a user’s set wirelessly through a network, and in the event that the iPad in use becomes disconnected, any music remains securely connected to the player via a USB.
Hybrid Midi mode has also been incorporated into the SC3900, and with this, it can control DJ software utilising DVS without using time code CDs.
