Digigram’s Aqord gets to the point

The HEVC/H.265-enabled versions of Digigram’s Aqord video encoder have been created to enable point-to-point broadcasting of UHD 4K video or simultaneous HD channels. Housed in a 1U rack-mountable chassis, the Aqord *HEVC-4K Ultra HD and Aqord *HEVC-xHD multi-HD encoders allow the HEVC/H.265 to produce high-resolution video content up to 4Kp60, 4.2.2, 10-bit and 120Mbps in live event production. The compact form factor has been designed to save space, whilst reducing power consumption in OB environments.

Productions that stream video with UHD or multiple HD feeds can reportedly be set up with minimal configuration. With HEVC/H.265 encoding or local recording capabilities, Aqord *HEVC is also stated to provide mission critical reliability, supported by dual streaming capabilities, forward error correction (FEC) and a redundant power supply. Both new encoders ingest raw video through four 3G-SDI video inputs and use HEVC to double the compression efficiency enabled by AVC/H.264.
