DiGiGrid interfaces return Soundgrid to Pro Tools

Pro Tools TDM and HDX users can now achieve full integration of SoundGrid plugins following the arrival of DiGiGrid’s DLS and DLI interfaces. The launches continue the collaboration between Waves Audio and DiGiCo that previously resulted in the establishment of the DiGiGrid brand.
The DLS interface is a 64 digital input / 64 digital output DSP server that acts as a Pro Tools-to-SoundGrid interface, thereby providing Pro Tools users with access to SoundGrid plugins, as Waves doesn’t support the AAX format employed in the latest versions of the DAW software. Providing similar functionality, the DLI interface has been designed for users of large Pro Tools systems that also require the extra processing power of a dedicated SoundGrid DSP server.
Both the DLI and DLS have a built-in certified SoundGrid switch, reportedly making this the ideal integrated solution for users who want to expand their existing ProTools systems, while retaining an all-in-one hardware interface. One of the key benefits with the DiGiGrid interfaces is that when a user wants to expand their system, rather than having to throw away and replace their I/O interface with a bigger one, these units allow the user to buy an additional interface and link it to the first with standard network cables.
