Digital audio and video Komby cables from Tasker

Following the increased use of digital, Italian manufacturer of audio, video and broadcast cables, Tasker, has greatly increased its product range over the last 12 months.

According to Tasker, the essential characteristics for a good digital cable are its transmission speed, high frequency, the correct impedance of the coaxials and of the pairs, the new materials and construction methods, the small sizes, and the flexibility.

The high performance digital Tasker cables have gas injected insulation, double shielding covering 100 per cent of the cable and O.F.C copper conductors which have been tin and/or silver plated.

The Video range is comprised of Coaxial Video HD/SDI 75-ohm, such as the TSK 1078 and TSK 1079; Audio/Video such as the TSK 1092 and TSK 1093; for Full HD, HDMI systems TSK 1062; as well as other hybrid cables for special applications including broadcast, TV studios and outdoor shots. In 2011, a new Video HD coaxial cable from the manufacturer was the T42. According to Tasker, the cable is ‘gas injected with sheath in PUR, extremely robust and flexible, and suitable for outdoor use’.

On the audio side there were many new digital cables presented by Tasker. Examples include the TSK 1038 which is a multi-purpose cable for digital and analogue audio and DMX applications. The cable meets multiple specifications including the 110-ohm impedance for digital and a solid, flexible structure for the cabling of DMX equipment.

To complete the range of Tasker digital products are the various types of multipair audio professional Komby cables. These include the Tasker C283, C294, TSK 1096, TSK 1065 and C732 which allow different audio, video, data and power signals on a single cable for the fixed and mobile installations. The cables are all conformed to the AES/EBU standards for professional, broadcast, recording studios and long-distance public installations.

Some of the new Tasker digital cables have double shielding on the video coaxials and soft sheaths, in flame retardant ‘FirestoP’ and are sometimes ‘Halogen Free’, which makes the cables suitable for installations in public buildings such as airports, hospitals, sport structures, theatres, conference rooms, discos and musical events. Other versions are available with sheaths particularly resistant to wear, friction and UV rays, specifications aimed at outdoor use. All of them conform to the different lines of professional connectors Tasker BNC Video, XLR and jack in metal audio.
