DPA targets recording with d:dicate
Published: PRODUCTS
DPA Microphones has recently launched d:dicate, a recording microphone range that combines pre-amplifiers with the manufacturer’s new modular MMC4018 supercardioid capsule, the MMC4007 hi-SPL omnidirectional capsule, in addition to taking on a number of Reference Standard series mics.
Previously known as 4007, the MMC4007 is most suited for measurement purposes, and is capable of handling high sound pressure levels. Both the MMC4018 and MMC4007 are widely used for picking up drums, percussion and brass instruments, and are entirely compatible with other d:dicate preamplifiers.
DPA Reference Standard mics included within the d:dicate range include the modular 4000 and 2000 series. The 4000 series boasts the inclusion of the new 4018 supercardioid, 4017 shotgun, 4015 wide cardioid, 4011 cardioid and the 4006 omnidirectional mic.
Meanwhile, the 2000 series is comprised of two twin diaphragm capsules: the 2011 cardioid and the 2006 omni versions. Each can be combined with an A pre-amp, a B pre-amp with low cut and high boost filters and a compact C pre-amp.
Also new are a range of compatible accessories, including modular active cables (MMP-ER with rear cable entry and MMP-ES with side cable entry) plus modular active booms (MMP-F) that are compatible with all d:dicate capsules.
These mic solutions are suited to a wide range of applications, including as a podium microphone on a desktop or podium, or suspended for high-end capture or on elegant stage stands. The active booms come in several lengths and configurations with flexible gooseneck and XLR termination, while the new active cable only adds a centimetre to the capsule.
Meanwhile, DPA has also turned its attention to the installation market with the launch of two new microphones designed to give A/V installers and conference organisers clear, transparent and precise sound.
At the top end of the range DPA is offering podium microphones that incorporate the modular capsules from its d:dicate recording microphones, whilst a cost-effective, directional podium microphone based on DPA’s 4060/d:vote 4099 miniature microphones is also available. This miniature podium microphone can be used in a wireless configuration by employing the company’s adapter range.
