Duran Audios AXYS iPhone apps promise ultimate control

Said to offer users ‘ultimate control’, Duran Audio BV has launched two new AXYS iPhone apps as well as an AXYS wireless interface.
Boasting the ability to ‘control a complete concert system from a users palm,’ the new AXYS apps utilise on-board pre-set programming options from AXYS products. A user can now switch programs from their Apple device and then adjust settings such as volume, EQ, mute or solo. The apps are free to AXYS users.
The manufacturer has also announced the release of the Flex U-12G2, U-14G2 and UFM-265 loudspeakers: the latest products to emerge from the AXYS R&D laboratory.
Named the ‘Flex’ range due to the amount of applications the units can be used for, the new loudspeakers are said to be suited for use in theatres as front fills, under balcony fills, and as surround loudspeakers and monitors. The manufacturer reports that the range is equally suited for boardrooms and presentations in the corporate sector, and for small bars and clubs.
The range is fitted with built-in amplification and DSP, and is network-ready so the units can be easily controlled and configured from the AXYS WinControl software.
The U-12G2 consists of a 6.5-inch driver and a soft dome tweeter, while the U-14G2 and UFM-265 boast an additional 6.5-inch drive
