Dx46 FIR-Drive

FIR-Drive system uses Finite Impulse Response filters and processing to provide linear phase performance and pattern control.

Previoulys only available in Electro-Voice’s N8000 system controllers and RCM-26 module-equipped Tour Grade series amplifiers, the FIR-Drive system uses Finite Impulse Response filters and processing to provide linear phase performance and pattern control.

The Dx46 offers FIR-Drive in compact form factor and at a price point that makes it available to portable and installed audio applications. It offers six channels of 512-tap, complex-phase FIR filters in addition to EV’s PA Limiter and Temp Limiter algorithms, and has a USB interface for local connection and an Ethernet interface with an integrated switch for more advanced connectivity. Five GPI ports provide input for contact closures or other hardware interfaces.

The unit provides input processing, with graphic EQ, PEQ and delay, and a FIR-Drive-optimised output stage, including crossover, EQ and dynamics. It also provides specialised Array EQ and Array Delay blocks on each output. The Iris-Net software control platform allows use with EV sound systems, including amplifiers and additional external controls.

Other features include: analogue and AES/EBU inputs; a -6dB switchable analogue pad inserted before A/D converters on inputs; 60 factory presets; 30 user presets and a Edit/Compare mode.
