EAW VF series offers enhanced transducer technology and performance

The range is being considered an update to the manufacturer’s VR and FR Series with enhanced transducer technology and performance, while the speakers’ construction opens up a number of configuration possibilities spanning the VFR and VFS Series, including clusters and arrays, matching speaker and subwoofer pairs or standalone units.

The VFR series consists of five two-way full-range loudspeaker models: the VFR159 15-inch, VFR129 12-inch, VFR109 10-inch, VFR89 8-inch, and the VFR69 6-inch, all of which operate in passive mode.

Traditional portable features such as handles, a pole cup and dual NL4 inputs have been blended into the body design of the loudspeaker, hiding them in plain sight, while portable use is enhanced by the heavy-duty enclosure construction and foam-backed steel grilles. The same speakers also contain standard installation features such as large square rotatable horns, barrier strip inputs, the ability to add a transformer for constant voltage systems, integrated OmniMount mounting points and dedicated U-brackets and yokes for each product. The VFR159 and VFR129 come with a 90-degree by 60-degree horns that can be easily field replaced with a 60-degree by 40-degree horn.

The VFS Series are the companion subwoofers to the VF family, which have been designed to integrate with the full range of VFR products in an array or as a standalone subwoofer. The VFS220 dual 12-inch and VFS250 dual 15-inch can be matched to applications utilising transducers in direct radiating vented enclosures tuned to match the rest of the VF product line. The size and shape of the subwoofers have been matched to the dimensions of VFR products, while maintaining a low profile for use in installations. When used with an optional fly-bar, two full range VFR loudspeakers can be mounted, one to either side of a VFS subwoofer using pre configured and optimised splay angles. An optional fly-bar provides single or double pick points for a total array package.

Finally, the VSM series of two-way horn-loaded stage monitors consists of the VSM159 15-inch, VSM129 12-inch and the VSM109 10-inch, complementing both the VFR loudspeakers and VFS subs. The VSM series maintains the unique look and hybrid mix of portable and install usability as the rest of the VF family, extending each model’s capabilities as a dual-purpose stage monitor and portable PA with a smooth HF response and tight pattern provided by large square horns to facilitate pattern rotation.

Handles are built into the loudspeaker enclosure, whilst connector panels are located on either side of the monitor, for easy loop-through cabling. Each VSM unit includes a pole mount cup allowing for the loudspeaker to be used as a portable full range system while its compact shape maintains a low profile when used as a monitor. The VFR loudspeakers, VFS subwoofers and VSM stage monitors are all available in either a black or white finish.
