Electro Voice microphone launch recalls classic model

The RE320 has been added to Electro Voice’s RE Performance Group range of wired microphones, with its design having reportedly derived from the famous RE20 model.
Intended for vocal or instrument applications either onstage or in the studio, the microphone includes Variable-D proximity control technology to improve tonal performance, a patented humbucking coil for noiseless operation, and a high-output neodymium magnet structure capsule.
Also onboard is a new ‘dual personality’ switch described by Electro Voice as ‘essentially creating two mics in one’. One setting of the switch engages a response curve that is ideal for voice and most instruments, while the second position activates a response curve designed specifically for kick drums.
As a new member of the RE Performance Group, the RE320 joins the RE200 small diaphragm condenser, the RE410 and RE510 handheld condenser vocal mics, and the RE920 clip-on condenser.
