Equator Audio partnership leads to new FB/E Sound Abatement Panels

Equator Audio has recently partnered with Grammy Award winning engineer/producer and host of the internet TV show Studio Rescue, Francis Buckley to release the Francis Buckley / Equator (FB/E) Sound Abatement Panels.
Designed with the smaller project studio in mind, the FB/E Sound Abatement Panels are manufactured from high density cotton material, are lightweight and are cut to approximately 30cm by 30cm, and 5cm deep. Unlike traditional foam and fibreglass panels – that are typically cut to 60cm by 120cm dimensions – the size of the FB/E panels means that in small control rooms such as those commonly found in home recording studios, there is greater flexibility for positioning. The panels achieve a NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) rating of 1.05 and SAA (Sound Absorption Average) rating of 1.04. As an additional benefit, there is no fibreglass used in the manufacturing of the panels, so there is no carcinogenic risk.
‘Our new FB/E Sound Abatement Panels effectively absorb unwanted primary reflections that can interfere with the mix position’ said Mr Buckley. ‘Acoustical treatment is a very important consideration for any critical listening space and yet there is relatively little focus on it – particularly for the home studio operator. In addition to their stellar absorption qualities, these smaller panels offer greater placement flexibility in small rooms such as home studios. They are a vital element for controlling unwanted reflections in the mix position and they are a “green”, environmentally friendly solution to boot.’
