Extron expands its DisplayPort line for pro A/V industry

Extron Electronics has released a SW2 DP two-input switcher and a DP DA2 two output distribution amplifier. The manufacturer states that its latest offerings are among the first DisplayPort switcher and distribution amplifier products designed specifically for the pro A/V industry.
The HDCP-compliant products are particularly suited for A/V systems that require reliable switching and distribution of DisplayPort signals, and each support data rates up to 10.8Gbps and computer resolutions up to 2,560 x 1,600 at 60Hz, including HDTV 1080p/60.
The SW2 DP and DP DA2 feature ‘Extron-exclusive’ technology named EDID Minder, which maintains continuous EDID communication between connected devices for reliable video content display.
Meanwhile, a key feature of the DP DA2 is the incorporation of the manufacturer’s Key Minder technology, which continuously authenticates HDCP encryption between all devices, ensuring the simultaneous distribution of source content to both displays. Additionally, dual-mode support on the DP DA2 allows source signals to be distributed to multiple HDMI, DVI, or VGA display devices with appropriate adapters.
