Fibreco Senior

Fibreco Senior, Senior 1080 SMPTE and Mini-Tactical Fibre Optic Cable Assemblies are now all available from Canford, using expanded beam technology to reportedly eliminate scratch and contamination problems.
Expanded beam lenses never make contact with each other, avoiding the risk of abrasion damage, while dirt can be removed with a lint free cloth. All connectors across the ranges are a ‘hermaphroditic’ design so that it does not matter which end of a long cable run is taken to mate with another cable.
Meanwhile, the company has also announced Canford Fibre Optic Tailgate Panels – a range of termination panels intended for outside broadcast or wall-box use, and suitable for mounting Lemo or Fischer SMPTE 304M, Neutrik opticalCON, Fibrecast or Stratos expanded beam fibre hybrid connectors. They are available in angled or flat versions and are supplied unpopulated as standard.
Also now available is the Mini5 range of fibre optic panels, couplers and patching cables, which are supplied either fully populated or as component parts for mixed layout self-assembly. Reportedly allowing for the flush mounting of either SC simplex or duplex, or LC duplex or quad couplers with a double-skin front panel arrangement, the panels also feature a sliding fibre management tray. ST couplers are mounted using the traditional single lock nut system.
Finally, the CHD 1811 is an HD to HDMI audio and video converter with fibre interface options. It will auto-detect any connected SDI video signal with embedded audio from 270Mb/s to 3Gb/s and convert it to a standard HDMI signal. AES digital, balanced and unbalanced analogue audio are also supported. The optional singlemode fibre interfaces allow the module to perform HDMI monitoring of fibre connections and act as a fibre/SDI SDI/fibre converter. The fibre output can transmit uncompressed HD 3Gb/s over distances of up to 10km.
