FR12 Remote Light Source projector

projectiondesign presented the FR12 Remote Light Source (RLS) projector at ISE 2010. The RLS concept relocates the lamps from the projector to a rack-mount enclosure up to 30m away from the projector head. Light from the 19-inch rack-mounted RLS illuminates the projector head via a Liquid Light Guide (LLG) resulting in a compact, virtually maintenance-free projector head offering silent operation, with no limits on installation orientation and simplified lamp maintenance. The FR12 RLS projector is intended for continuous operation and applications where fan noise and heat management are concerns, in addition to any location where projector access is restricted.

The MIPS WB2560 multi-image processing system provides image blending and geometry correction for 2D and 3D display in scientific visualisation, training and simulation applications. Designed to integrate with projectiondesign projectors, MIPS WB2560 is capable of providing image and geometry correction on a per-pixel basis for reliable image performance. MIPS WB2560 is scalable, allowing any number of channels to be combined to produce a single image. MIPS units are configurable to easily create images ranging from a simple two-channel blend to complex multichannel, geometry-corrected 3D stereoscopic displays for use on any projection surface. The processing engine is transparent to the image generator, and operates at or near zero latency depending on setup.

The MIPS WB2560 features Black Level Matching, allowing the black level of individual displays to be adjusted to create truly seamless blending and perfect matching between multiple displays. Additionally, PLM allows individual RGB lift and gain per pixel, while the high-speed, dual processor features user-selectable filtering, including bi-cubic interpolation and 4x4 Lanczos adaptive filtering, producing detail and sharpness in blend and correction zones.
