GenVI gets smart as new LSC flagship

Reportedly designed to keep pace with market demand, LSC has introduced a new flagship intelligent dimming and power distribution unit named the GenVI, marking the sixth generation of dimmers from the manufacturer. It is described as ‘much more than just a humble dimmer’.

Intended to provide a one-product solution for complex lighting and power control, the GenVI allows any of its outputs to be configured as an 8- or 16-bit dimmer, or alternatively as a direct power relay channel. Built-in TruPower technology provides a direct power path to the load, enabling users to set aside certain channels, for example to dim traditional lights, whilst providing separate feeds to power moving lights, LEDs, video screens, and even power amplifiers.

The front-panel touchscreen allows each channel to be set individually, control the outputs locally and view any external fault conditions that may be present. As well as having local and DMX control, the unit is also RDM (Remote Device Management) enabled, allowing the user to change the DMX address of the unit and view fault conditions including over-temperature and loss of phase or DMX signal from any RDM controller. Additionally, Auto Power Mode switches relay channels on when DMX is applied and off when it is no longer present.

Each circuit on the GenVI is protected by an RCBO combination (MCB + 30mA RCD) on each circuit rated at either 13-, 16-, or 20A. However, optional neutral disconnect MCBs can be provided where RCDs are not desirable. In addition, the unit boasts features such as Softpatch, Riggers control, locals scene and chase reply, plus an emergency backup scene.

The GenVI is available in 12 x 13A, 12 x 16A and 6 x 25A configurations with a large selection of power output connectors.
