HDMI I/O option now available for APx525 family

Audio Precision has announced the availability of a new HDMI I/O option for its APx525 family of two- and four-channel audio analysers, which was previously only available on the manufacturer’s eight-channel APx585.
The new configuration is aimed at designers and manufacturers of smartphones, tablet computers, and set-top boxes that require digital multichannel interfaces, (such as HDMI) but need fewer analogue audio channels. By introducing a APx525 with HDMI, Bluetooth, and a digital serial interface, the manufacturer hopes that this will give smartphone and set-top box designers ‘everything they need’.
Meanwhile, a metadata recorder alerts a user when a source’s EDID doesn’t match the audio format being received by the analyser. In addition to generating linear/PCM audio streams, an analyser can stream lossless (Dolby TrueHD or dts-HD master audio) and compressed formats (Dolby Digital and dts digital surround) from pre-encoded audio test files.
In addition to HDMI, the APX525 range supports Bluetooth and a digital serial option.
