HH hand-held transmitter offers greater freedom from Lectrosonics

The HH hand-held transmitter is the latest in Lectrosonics’ line of digital hybrid wireless microphone systems to offer compandor-free audio.

Described by Lectrosonics as providing ‘a wealth of features’, it is being marketed for use by presenters, educators, and houses of worship.

Responding to requests from customers, the manufacturer reports that one of the new features is that the transmitter is able to accept third party receivers, and claims that its slim design feels ‘right at home’ in a users hand. A talkback feature has also been included to allow communication between the performer and, for example, the front of house mix engineer.

Describing the transmitter’s new talkback function as ‘the icing on the cake’, Karl Winkler, director of business development at Lectrosonics, discussed other features the unit has to offer: ‘To make the product rider-friendly, the HH accepts standard thread-on capsules. For longer run time, it uses AA batteries and, for ease of use, it has an intuitive interface with membrane buttons and an LCD display,’ he stated.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer is keen to draw attention to the transmitter’s 44dB input gain range, claiming that it makes the transmitter suitable for a variety of capsule sensitivities and source volume differences. Further to this, two capsules are available from Lectrosonics in the shape of the HHC cardioid condenser, and the HHS supercardioid condenser.

The new transmitter is equipped with a membrane switch control panel and high-resolution LCD display. Designed to facilitate intuitive operation and setup, this menu-driven system is intended to offer numerous essential operating parameters, including operating frequency, audio modulation level, battery status and additional information.

The HH transmitter is powered by two AA batteries and offers selectable RF power at 50mW or 100mW.
