High-density connectors for event installers from Harting Group

The Han Modular(R) series connector inserts are a new release from Harting Group, and are designed to allow event installers to create high-density connectivity and cabling solutions with total flexibility. A choice of different IP 65/67 hoods and housings make the series suitable for harsh handling conditions.
The series include multiple contact-style modules that can be mixed to suit particular needs. Multi-pin modules can support the transfer of analogue and digital audio, whilst multi-way coaxial modules can handle CCTV, SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI video. A full range of power modules allows current handling from a few amperes to 200A.
RJ45 data modules allow Cat-5 10/100 Mbit/s, Cat.6e 1 Gbit/s or Cat.6EA 10 Gbit/s Ethernet transfer via Harting patch leads. Also, signal security between power and data lines can be ensured where necessary through EMC screening options, or by the use of SC fibre-optic modules.
Harting Group’s Han-Yellock(R) design allows single-handed pushbutton mating, which is said to be particularly useful for connections made in awkward access areas. The sleek shape, along with the internal locking system, supports cable trunking ‘drag-through’.
Meanwhile, the Han-Eco(R) series come in a ‘lightweight but robust’ package, and are said to be ideal for use with portable equipment.
All designs offer integral protective earthing, ensuring ‘finger-safe’ protective handling. Additionally, a range of cable glands are available, and threaded entry areas can accommodate standard conduit fittings to maintain IP 65 if separate mixed cables are used.
The optional Harting hoods and housings include the Han(R) B series, utilising Han(R) easy lock levers which are in an anti-reflective black finish.
