IBC debuts from Audio-Technica

Audio-Technica used IBC to launch a range of microphone, wireless and accessory models, including new broadcast interview microphones, and upgraded wireless transmitters and receivers.

The BP4001 (cardioid) and BP4002 (omnidirectional) dynamic microphones are new additions to Audio-Technica’s Broadcast & Production series. The new mics are designed for all types of broadcast interview and remote newsgathering situations including ENG, EFP and sports applications. The new microphones feature a hardened steel grille, an integral windscreen and a back-cavity assembly that “floats” inside the handle shell. The BP4001 and BP4002 are supplied with a slip-on foam windscreen, vinyl carrying case, soft protective pouch and professional stand clamp.

Audio-Technica’s 2000 and 3000 Series wireless systems have been upgraded with new features designed to boost performance and usability. Improvements to the 2000 Series (now known as the 2000a) receivers include 12v antenna power to drive the ATW-B80 antenna booster or other active components, improved tone lock squelch and increased output level with -2dBV/+9dBV output selector switch. A new high RF power option on the 2000a Series beltpack and handheld transmitters delivers improved range (particularly in the case of the beltpack transmitter when body-worn), and transmitters now feature charging contacts for use with a new charging station. The 2000a Series is also available in three new frequency bands – D Band, G Band and I Band – in addition to the existing E Band and F Band in Europe.

The 3000b Series now offers up to 1001 selectable UHF frequencies in C, D, E, F, G and I Bands in Europe, with nine new pre-coordinated frequency scan groups simplifying selection of usable frequencies in a multi-channel wireless system. The UniPak body-pack transmitter features a backlit screen for easy reading in low-light situations and a locking battery door. A three-position sliding cover on the transmitter's control panel prevents accidental shutoff or channel-switching.

The 3000b Series is available with either a dynamic or condenser handheld transmitter featuring. The ATW-T341b handheld transmitter includes the Artist Elite AE4100 cardioid dynamic element, while the ATW-T371b handheld transmitter features the Artist Series ATM710 cardioid condenser element.
