IC Audio horn designed for tunnels

Developed to cut through extreme ambient noise in both indoor and outdoor applications, the TH-100-EN54 boundary horn has been added to the catalogue of IC Audio. Ideal for use in tunnels, the 100W horn is certified for use in voice alarm systems according to EN 54-24, and requires no additional equalisation to meet the standard’s specified frequency response requirements.
According to the manufacturer, the horn has been designed to ‘withstand corrosive atmospheric contaminants, high moisture levels and temperature extremes’. It also reportedly produces ‘an enormous sound pressure level, a very balanced frequency response and low distortion’.
Looked at in more detail, the TH-100-EN54 is constructed with a flame retardant ABS plastic housing in RAL 7023 (concrete grey), while IP 33 protection is provided with a ceramic block and thermal fuse. Inside is a CCAR voice coil, while the assembly benefits from rust-free V4A stainless steel brackets and screws.
