IEX16L-A myMix input expander begins shipping

The Movek IEX16L-A input expander for the myMix personal mixing system is now shipping.
The 16-channel expander offers two eight-channel digital inputs utilising the ADAT format, thereby allowing 16 audio channels to be streamed in 24-bit, 48kHz into a myMix system.
According to the manufacturer, the ADAT interface is an ‘easy and cost effective’ way to bring digital audio into myMix, either directly from the console or sound card, or via additional interfaces.
For instance, with four IEX16L-A expanders and a Madi to ADAT interface, Movek reports that it is now possible to have up to 64 inputs via Madi to myMix. As the number of myMix system devices is unlimited, a user can set up 160 input signals, using any combination of IEX16L-A or local myMix inputs.
The 1RU, 19-inch rack mount unit has an additional 16 analogue line-level
channel inputs which can be switched in blocks of eight, providing the flexibility to use either 16 digital, eight analogue and eight digital, or all 16 channels in analogue.
Key features are highlighted to be the IEX-16L configuration lock and the ‘send mix to network’ functionality, where users can transmit their stereo mix to the network, allowing others to see it as an additional network source. Meanwhile, the inclusion of a ‘play along to SD card’ function means that a user can take their myMix home and play with a band using the two local inputs, or use myMix as a ‘band-in-a-box’ with tracks recorded on a myMix system, or onto a user’s DAW.
