Tieline Technology’s Report-IT Live application turns an iPhone into an IP audio codec for live portable wireless newsgathering.
Tieline Technology’s Report-IT Live application turns an iPhone into an IP audio codec for live portable wireless newsgathering.
‘Owners of Tieline IP audio codecs can use an iPhone as a highly portable, remote broadcast reporting tool for capturing and transmitting live, high-quality audio to Tieline codecs in the studio,’ said Anthony Sizer, Tieline enterprise systems and mobility manager. ‘With one-touch, a reporter can connect to a Tieline IP audio codec using either 3G cellular wireless or Wi-Fi. The Report-IT Live app enables live two-way reporting with the studio by sending low delay bidirectional FM quality audio.’
As an alternative to the iPhone’s onboard mic and headphone, the Report-It Live Dock can be used to connect professional headphones and microphones, as well as control and monitor levels. The Report-IT Live Dock features: two broadcast quality XLR microphone inputs; two headphone outputs; microphone input and headphone output level controls; and two input level PPM meters.
As well as live reporting, an interview can be stored on the iPhone for safety. An interview can also be conducted offline and stored for forwarding later. Audio files can be forwarded live to a Tieline codec or uploaded via FTP with no codec required in the studio. Report-IT has been designed for: live interviews including two-way interviews to the studio; live sports and event announcing over IP; recording reports; and storing and forwarding of recorded reports to the studio.
