Jade 2.0 becomes first Lawo virtual audio router

Promising to provide a ‘unified interface to all of your audio applications, even if you have multiple audio hardware pathways’, the Jade 2.0 radio software tool has debuted from Lawo, becoming the manufacturer’s first virtual audio router.

The launch is intended to facilitate improved production in the field, delivering a ‘full-featured audio production toolset’ in locations such as press conferences, hotel rooms and live events.

Described by Lawo as capable of ‘remembering the routings for various tasks and recalling them in an instant’ whilst providing ‘advanced mixing and level control with an intuitive GUI’, Jade 2.0 also offers a suite of the manufacturer’s processing tools for insertion into a signal chain. In newsroom applications, it makes it possible to produce content in parallel on multiple workstations.

Also new from the manufacturer is version 5.0 software for its MkII mc² mixing consoles and routers, which is available free of charge for all existing customers. It reportedly delivers a ‘major upgrade to functionality and operation’.

Freshly added features in the v5.0 software include AutoMix, which automatically balances mono, stereo and surround-sources for a variety of different applications. Up to eight AutoMix-groups can be used per system, each with an unlimited number of contributing channels. Also added are mxGUI faders, which have been added to the mxGUI touchscreen system, and the integration of the Ember+ self-discovery protocol.
