Jünger Audio replaces older models with DAP LM2 and LM4

Jünger Audio’s D*AP LM2 is a two-channel digital audio processor incorporating version II of Jünger Audio’s Level Magic algorithm. It has been designed as a successor to the manufacturer’s D06 unit.

According to the manufacturer, the D*AP LM2 offers a ‘powerful combination of dynamics and loudness control’, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including television, radio, music production and public address.

The D*AP LM2, measuring approximately 48cm, handles analogue and digital (AES/EBU) audio, and features an automatic input switchover with parallel output formats. The manufacturer’s ‘adaptive dynamics’ function is included, allowing customers to incorporate additional processing blocks such as filters, compressors, expanders, as well as a spectral signature processor. This technology is designed to give TV and radio broadcasters the ability to create a ‘signature’ mask as a template so that they can recreate the same atmosphere and dynamics on subsequent audio content.

The D*AP LM2 fits neatly into a rack can be controlled by a newly designed front panel or via a Web based interface. It is compliant with all current broadcast audio loudness recommendations including ITU, EBU R128 and ATSC A/85.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also released the D*AP LM4, a four-channel digital audio processor, also incorporating Level Magic II. The product is aimed at television broadcasters, video and post-production companies that need to control audio loudness whilst creating and editing broadcast content.

The D*AP LM4 features onboard AES/EBU digital I/O, along with optional 3G/HD/SD-SDI I/O or analogue I/O. Whichever format the user selects, all I/Os come with power fail bypass to ensure operational security. Control of this 48cm rack-mountable unit is via a new front panel or via a Web interface

The D*AP LM4 will eventually replace the manufacturer’s B46 processor.
