The second generation of L-Acoustics’ compact Kiva line array is set to be showcased at InfoComm 2016, reportedly providing users with an extra 6dB compared with its predecessor, 16-ohm impedance and an all-new, rugged enclosure design.
Weighing 14kg, the Kiva II cabinet employs the French manufacturer’s Wavefront Sculpture Technology (WST) waveguide for long throw capability and more even front-to-back dispersion. The company also states that the cabinet’s coplanar transducer arrangement and K-shaped coplanar transducer configuration results in a symmetrical horizontal coverage of 100-degrees, without secondary lobes and over the entire frequency range. At the time of publishing only limited information about the enclosure has been made available. However, the system offers a reported peak SPL of 137dB, is weather-resistant and will be joined by a wide-range of rigging accessories to facilitates a broad range of applications.
