Lawo gets hands-on with crystalClear

When entering a radio studio nowadays, you are much less likely to find a console fed from a multitude of outboard sources.  Media functions are increasingly being consolidated inside computers, meaning in some instances there’s little reason come out of the box.

For applications such as these, Lawo has brought out the crystalClear virtual mixing console, a software-based control surface driven by a multi-touch interface incorporated into a high-resolution display. Removing all physical knobs, buttons, and faders, the console presents users with only the relevant controls and information, and completely hides everything else.

According to the manufacturer, it’s as easy to use as a tablet PC, while powerful enough to manage complex workflows in broadcast environments.
