Lawo stands tall with 7U Nova73

The Nova73 compact stands at seven rack units in height, with a router that can be used as a standalone device. Alternatively, the Nova73 can be used as a core for the manufacturer’s mc² series in combination with the new mc²56 mixing console to form a powerful yet compact package for broadcast mixing.

With a full complement of five DSP cards, the system puts over 600 DSP channels at the end-user’s fingertips. With its capacity of 5120 x 5120 crosspoints, the Nova73 covers a wide performance spectrum, for which up to 10 I/O slots can be equipped with MADI, ATM or Ravenna interface cards. Alternatively, the same slots can be assigned to two AES3 cards, which in turn can be made directly available to the Nova73 compact for up to 64 AES channels.

As an interface technology, the Dallis I/O system is used, offering a large selection of interface cards for the breakout boxes. This allows the modular system to integrate every type of audio signal, GPIO and control data (RS-422) in addition to special SDI and intercom cards. The Nova73 compact comes with a redundant power supply fitted as standard and the option of adding a further redundant router module.

In addition, the PC-based audio control centre, Jade, is now available in its full version. The software solution simultaneously employs all audio signals on a Windows PC without limitations, and now integrates over the Ravenna audio-over-IP network. This has enabled local audio signals in the IP network to become available via Jade at local workstations.

Furthermore, remote control and automation options allow the operation of Jade remotely from other devices, such as Lawo radio mixing consoles. In addition to direct audio connectivity between any audio hardware and software, together with Ravenna integration, Jade also offers signal processing using algorithms from the mc² series and plug-ins from third parties together with comprehensive metering including loudness. Jade can also save and recall complete configurations, including all processing parameters.
