Limited edition anniversary R-121 from Royer

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, Royer Labs has released a limited edition version of its R-121 ribbon microphone.
When the company launched in 1998, the first product off the line was the R-121 studio ribbon mic. The first hundred or so of these were shipped with a black logo, prior to the change to the green badge that has been a fixture on the mic ever since. The anniversary version reverts to its origins by once again donning the black logo and also ships with a certificate of authenticity personally signed by company chief engineer David Royer.
The R-121 is a ribbon microphone designed for studio environments. According to the manufacturer, it exhibits ‘a flat frequency response and a well-balanced, panoramic sound field’. It also reportedly has the ability to withstand 135dB.
The limited edition of the R-121 has a production run of 250 units.
