TC Electronic has announced that its LM6 Radar Loudness Meter is now available as a plugin. This version will allow audio professionals using programs such as Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Nuendo, Wavelab, Cubase and Sequoia, (on a Mac or PC), to have direct access to the LM6 meter, which covers all mono, stereo and 5.1 productions.
The LM6 has been designed to display loudness history in a single, ‘easy-to-read, radar-like’ view, and each radar revolution can span from one minute to 24 hours. Key information can be logged as a standard formatted text file that may accompany a program for proof of delivery spec compliance.
Additionally, the plugin employs a fully synchronous, high-headroom design in order to display true-peak warnings and bar graphs correctly, and has been designed to comply with all of the major broadcast standards based on Leq(K).
The new offering is available for DAW platforms supporting Audio Units, RTAS or VST plugin formats, and the only piece of hardware required is an iLok 2 USB key for holding the plug-in license. The manufacturer is keen to state that the LM6 Radar Loudness Meter also supports Avid’s AAX plugin format.
Meanwhile, TC Electronic has also announced that it has released a free software update for its P2 Level Pilot.
P2 version 2.35 lowers the latency from 1.8ms to 0.8ms, and includes trickle-down presets for mobile and iPod platforms within ITU BS.1770-2, EBU R128, ATSC A/85 and TR-B32 environments.
