Mackie expands ProFX mixer series

Mackie has announced two additions to its ProFX Compact Effects Mixer series — the ProFX16 and ProFX22. Both new models recently received their debut in China at the Palm Beijing exhibition.
The new mixers feature an increased channel count and additional tools such as dedicated inline compression, and are marketed as suited for mid-sized venues and bands looking for a ‘do-it-all’ live sound solution.
The new 16-channel ProFX16 and 22-channel ProFX22 include a number of features designed to eliminate the need for additional rackmount gear.
The mixers increase the number of mic pres needed for larger applications whilst featuring dedicated inline compression for ‘simple, one-knob compression’ of vocals and instruments.
The built-in USB interface allows the user to record a live performance and stream back music for breaks or integration into the mix. Meanwhile, the ‘low-noise, high-headroom’ preamps are said to work with LED metering and 60mm faders on each channel to keep levels in check. Every channel also features three-band EQ.
Matt Redmon, Mackie product manager, commented on the new mixers: ‘They’re easy to operate, sound great and virtually eliminate the need for expensive, heavy outboard gear. They’re perfect for any performance venue, house of worship or band that needs a ton of professional tools and are on a budget’, he concluded.
The mixers also boast an integrated 32-bit RMFX effects processor with 16 ‘gig-ready effects’ and a seven-band graphic EQ for simple tuning of mains or monitors.
